Simulators in our education

Två tjejer sitter vid var sin simulator för att öva.

All our natural resource management schools have a simulator center where we develop digital technologies and teach driving techniques. We have different types of simulators available. Students can practice driving vehicles such as tractors, forestry machines and trucks. This gives them plenty of practice before they sit down in an actual machine. We also have three horse simulators that allow students to have virtual riding lessons.

The advantages of simulator-based teaching include:

  • Reduced emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
  • Increased knowledge of digital technologies.
  • Safer driving lessons that make students feel more secure.
  • Effective teaching as teachers can teach more students at the same time.
  • Increased amount of training for students. In boarding schools, students can also practice outside of class.
  • Possible subject integration between, for example, English and vocational subjects.

Agricultural machinery

Our agricultural machinery consists of 15 different machines that can be test-driven, these include tractors, combines and loaders.

Forestry machinery

Naturbruksskolan Svenljunga has large areas of forest and a large machine park with modern forwarders and harvesters. As a forestry machine operator, you will use modern digital equipment and machines in the field, but also practice in state-of-the-art simulators at the school.

Simulated horse riding

Modern horse simulators have pressure sensors that can detect weight and movement, which allow riders to practice jumping, dressage and cross-country. Riding these types of simulators gives students a unique opportunity to hone their riding skills. They also provide direct feedback on the rider's technique.
