Sustainable Transport and Infrastructure
Sustainable transport and infrastructure, part of the Smart Specialisation strategy of the region, is a key driver for growth in Region Västra Götaland. The Strategy emphasises the promotion of alternative fuels and the procurement of energy efficient vehicles and underpins the vision of a fossil free region by 2030. Region Västra Götaland has built a strong triple helix around sustainable transport solutions which can be shown in the CEF financed project GREAT, in which the region is involved.
On the EU level we work in strategic partnerships with the ERRIN Transport Working Group, the North Sea Commission’s Transport Group and CPMR’s Working Group for Transport, with the aim to foster knowledge exchange, build new partnerships and taking part in the setting of the political agenda in Europe.
